What We Do:
Charitable Interests
We remain true to Florence M. Muller’s original intent of strengthening our community and our natural environment through grantmaking that focuses on child well-being, education, health care, and environmental conservation.
Focus and Priorities
We award program, capital project, and general operating grants within each of our grantmaking interest areas.
Our responsive grantmaking focuses on:
-
Child Well-Being:
We support effective strategies that ensure disadvantaged youth (prenatal to kindergarten entry) are born healthy into supportive families; remain on track physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively to meet developmental milestones; and enter kindergarten thriving and prepared to succeed. -
Education:
We support innovative strategies that help disadvantaged youth (kindergarten to 12th grade) remain on track and graduate high school prepared with the strong foundation needed for successful, productive futures. -
Health Care:
We support constructive strategies that reduce health inequities by meeting underserved communities’ evolving needs, bringing healthcare into the community, and creative approaches that connect health and education and/or child well-being.
Our strategic grantmaking focuses on Environmental Conservation. Our board-initiated, strategic Environmental Conservation grants support efforts that improve our environment.
Geographic Funding
We fund organizations and projects located in, and serving the residents of, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates counties in New York State.
Grant Awards
We fund not-for-profit, charitable, 501(c)3 organizations doing work that aligns with our focus and priorities. Grant preference and priority is given to small and mid-sized organizations.
The Florence M. Muller Foundation does not make grants to governmental institutions, individuals, or organizations that make grants to others. The Foundation does not make grants for lobbying for specific political candidates or legislation, scholarships, fundraising events, endowments, or to address deficits.
